Mr. Phinizy asked us if there was ever any failures that taught us something in Senior Year, and he said he felt like him letting senioritis get a hold of him was a failure. But also, that there are so many people out there who say things like they wanna be doctors, lawyers, etc, but then complain about the littlest tasks. They ask him why he has 6+ periods during his senior year. People get so lazy during senior year and just wanna stop working. They think Senior Year is the end. But it doesn’t end after this. It’s just gonna get harder and there will be more work. So I just thought that was so interesting and I gave him a round of applause even though I was the only one clapping but it’s fine. SO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO HAVE DREAMS AND GOALS, STOP BEING SO LAZY. Life doesn’t end after high school. There’s so much work left to be done.

Anyway, people were commenting on it and saying it sucked and how it doesn’t sound like Beyonce. blah blah blah, but someone commented and said
“You know what I don’t get? This is a cover and it is done the way the Glee writers want Rachel to sing it, yet people are saying it sucks and Beyonce (the original) is better. I thought a cover was your own interpretation. This is Rachel’s interpretation. Sounding the same as Beyonce would be boring and even then,Lea would get attacked. This is a really beautiful song and fits Rachel’s story so well.”
I thought that was really interesting. I’ve seen probably thousands of covers on Youtube and people are always getting hate on their videos about how they sucked or how they ruined the song. But it’s a COVER. It’s not supposed to sound the same. You should add your own style or flavor. You may not be the best singer, but it’s your cover. and ultimately, how YOU interpret the song you’re singing. So yeah, that’s all.
