This is a picture of the UCSB Orientation Staff on our last day of training. I’ve spent over 100 hours with these wonderful individuals and now we get to spend hundreds more this summer welcoming and imparting knowledge to UCSB’s Freshmen Class (& their families)! So excited to share, learn, and grow through out the next few months. Class of 2018, Welcome and get ready!
This afternoon’s reading~
We shall be free (in about 20 hours).
I have been cast in my first main stage college production, “The Arabian Nights.” I am so excited to be given this opportunity and I can’t wait to challenge myself, grow, and have a lot of fun. Such a blessing!
Looks like I’ll be in Santa Barbara this summer! Found out yesterday that I was selected to be a part of the 2014 Summer Orientation Staff here at UCSB! So excited to start training, meet new people, and welcome the new Freshmen to UCSB this summer. This is going to be such an amazing, life changing opportunity and I honestly cannot wait!
Year 2 has begun!
I moved in yesterday (8/20) and hit the ground running. Got here around 2 pm, put things away, and set up my room a bit. Met a couple of my suitemates. They’re chill. Went to a meeting at 4 pm and was reunited with some friends. YAY! Went to another meeting with Impact for Cru Week of Welcome planning. I won a $10 giftcard for amazon for finishing my summer assignment early. I rarely win raffles and things like that so I was….no, AM so excited about that. I got home around 11 (I think), showered and KNOCKED OUT.
Today (8/21), I woke up at 6:45 am to get ready to help freshmen and sophomores move into their Res Halls. It was fun to meet people and help them out. Ate my first meal in the dining commons for the year at Carillo. I’ve missed it! Got my PO Box key and then went back to my room for a much needed nap. Woke up, talked with my family on the phone for a bit, then went to dinner with some friends. After that, I finished up the last few episodes of How I Met Your Mother and now I am READY for the season 9 premiere on Monday. Just ordered my textbook for my Shakespeare class (originally over $100 and I got it for about $25) so I’m pretty excited about that. Anyway, the day is pretty much over now. I’m still pretty tired from move in weekend. My roommate moves in tomorrow so that’s exciting! It’s been less than 2 days but I’m having a good feeling about this year. It’s gonna be as great as I make it. So let’s do this. BE BOLD.
LASTLY, if you ever wanna send me mail, here’s the address

I will be back in Santa Barbara this weekend for my second year in college.
Words cannot even express how excited, nervous, and anxious I am about starting a new year but I feel somewhat ready for all that is about to be thrown at me. I’m determined to make this year WAY better than the last.
Wow, I just love taking out loans for school. The American education system is the BEST! I love that education is so expensive. Plus, I think it’s fun to be broke. C00L!!
Good News: School starts in a month
Bad News: School starts in a month
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
People always ask me how my first year of college was and all I can say was that it was good. It wasn’t AMAZING but it wasn’t terrible. It was just good. & what’s even worse was that I can never remember what I did. Someone will ask me stuff about college and nothing comes to mind. Was my first year that uneventful? Idk man. UCSB is an awesome place but maybe I just didn’t take advantage of all it had to offer. Oh well, I got 3 years to get it right….
do you like anyone yet? ucsb has tons of cuties, i've heard
There are literally hundreds of attractive people at UCSB! But no, I do not like anyone in the romantic sense at the moment. I don’t know why, it just hasn’t happened. I ain’t even mad though!
Ok, so for the past few months, I’ve been working and perfecting this monologue I found in a monologue book. I used it for my intro to acting class and a few auditions and I got really great feedback from my audiences so I was gonna use it for my theater BFA audition in May but I was like “ugh, this isn’t even from a real play. It’s just in a monologue book” so for the last few weeks I’ve been looking around for a new monologue to use but none of them really stuck out to me as much as this one. So today I decided to do some research and it turns out that IT’S FROM A REAL PLAY OMG YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!! And it fits all of the requirements for my audition and wow, it’s perfect. It’s a sign. So I’m gonna keep working on this one and use it for my upcoming auditions and by the time I get to my audition for the BFA program, it should be pretty amazing. AH. I’m so happy right now :)))
